About your instructor Gavin

 

Gavin is well known in Australia as a leader in bushcraft education for both children and adults. His passion and persistence are evident from the testimonials he receives.

 

Gavins’ wife and 5 children regularly participate and help facilitate his programmes around Victoria.  He helps people view their lives through a proven and grounded experiential learning process that enables them to live their lives to a fuller extent and achieve outcomes they thought improbable.

 

His extensive experience and practical knowledge comes from: 

• Growing up in rural Queensland supported by an amazing active family.

• Joining the Scouts movement at the age of 8 years and remaining as part of their network. Gavin is an active Scout Leader and founding member of Scouts Victoria survival skills school.

• 40 years of regular bush camping, hiking, climbing and immersive outdoor experiences.

• 35 years as a software engineer, Manager, Mentor and through the ranks up to CIO, working in the Avionics and Telematics industries in both Australia and Europe. 

 

Gavin has the unique ability to have attention to detail AND personality and presence to interact and develop relationships and training, with his staff, clients and the public both in informal and formal settings.

 

Gavins’ programmes (running consistently since 2019) have helped people experience the Aussie Bush in a way that translates to enhancing their everyday life skills, both hands on, emotionally and retrospectively.

Our courses are primarily run at Clifford Park Activity Centre in scenic Wonga Park, though we have an extensive network of partner activity campsites across Australia to minimise the distance for you to travel.
