Our Vision

Everyday Bushcraft is more than survival. It is a way of living with awareness, resilience, and gratitude. It is the practice of learning simple, timeless skills that remind us who we are, what we are capable of, and how we can thrive, whether in the wilderness or in the challenges of modern life.

We believe that knowledge weighs nothing and that the five core skills of bushcraft are not just outdoor techniques, but powerful metaphors for living a balanced, confident, and purposeful life.

Our Values

  1. Resilience – Preparing for adversity so we can endure and adapt.

  2. Connection – To nature, to each other, and to the deeper truths of life.

  3. Simplicity – Finding strength in the essentials and clarity in the basics.

  4. Respect – For the land, for our communities, and for ourselves.

  5. Growth – Continuously learning, teaching, and sharing to leave the world better than we found it.

The Five Skills of Everyday Bushcraft

  1. Self-Aid

Caring for Self, Caring for Others

The first responsibility in the wild and in life is self-care. From first aid to emotional resilience, we must be strong enough to help ourselves so that we can help others.

Life Lesson: True strength begins with responsibility for your own wellbeing.

  2. Knots

    Ties That Hold Us Together

Knots are about connection, structure, and patience. Just as ropes and bindings make shelter possible, the relationships and commitments in our lives bind us to purpose and community.

Life Lesson: Problems are knots, sometimes tangled, always solvable with focus and perseverance.

  3. Shelter

    Creating Safe Places

Shelter protects us from storms, both physical and emotional. In nature it is a roof overhead; in life it is our community, our family, and our circle of trust.

Life Lesson: A true shelter is built not only of tarps or wood, but of people and belonging.

  4. Fire

    Igniting Passion and Transformation

Fire gives warmth, cooks food, and offers light. It is survival, but also spirit. Fire is our creativity, our energy, our drive to build and transform.

Life Lesson: Protect the spark within you, for it fuels your journey.

  5. Water

    Clarity and Renewal

Water sustains life. It teaches us about flow, patience, and purity. Purifying water in the bush is survival; seeking clarity and truth in life is wisdom.

Life Lesson: What you consume—food, water, thoughts—shapes who you become. Choose wisely.

Our Pledge

We practice bushcraft not only to survive, but to thrive.

We honor the land by treading lightly.

We strengthen ourselves so we can strengthen others.

We carry forward the knowledge of the old ways so that we may live better in today’s world.
